Travel Style
We recognise that it can be quite overwhelming when starting to plan a trip to Africa. There are so many different destinations to choose from, many many different parks and game reserves, and literally thousands of beautiful lodges, it can be difficult to know what is right for you. This is where we come in! We have classified each of our tours into four categories to give you an idea of the types of travel style available, so we can help you narrow down your perfect trip!
- Budget Smart – These tours offer basic en-suite accommodation, often in walk-in tents or small rondavel style cabins. Accommodations are often located outside of main areas/national parks and tours will be on larger vehicles (9-12 people on safari drives).
- Mid-Range Comfort – These tours are our most popular as they offer a great balance between comfort and affordability. Accommodations on these tours offer everything you need for a great trip including all the basic amenities, they will be stylish and well maintained and offer great service. Tours and transfers will typically be on a private basis, and game drives will normally be on smaller vehicles – but always with excellent guides.
- Luxury Style – These tours offer a luxurious high-end experience with beautiful and stylish lodges in great locations. Tours will be on a private basis and safari game drives will have a maximum of 6 per vehicle, and are often located in top-end private game reserves.
- Ultimate High-End – These are by far our most exclusive tours for the most discerning travellers. These tours include the ultimate in luxurious lodges, typically in remote and unique locations offering world class experiences. Tours will often involve charter flights between destinations, personal experiences and high-end dining experiences.

Typically it’s one of the first things people want to know when considering a trip there. I do understand why I get asked this question […]
Golden Monkey Trekking Rwanda – The Final Primate on My List!
There’s something deeply magical about encountering primates in the wild – the way they move, interact, and look back at you with those thoughtful, intelligent eyes. Over the years, I have been lucky enough to trek with gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda. But there was one more primate I hadn’t yet met in their natural […]
100 Countries and Counting: A Milestone in My Travel Story
Well, it’s official – I’ve just hit my 100th country! And wow, what a journey it’s been. From pitching a tent across Europe in the late 90s to hopping over to Rwanda for the weekend (yes, really), I’ve come a long way – quite literally – since that first inter-railing trip in 1998, where I […]
