This comprehensive 11 day Botswana mobile tented safari takes in some of the premier safari destinations in Botswana. The lush and vibrant Chobe River Front is internationally renowned for its remarkable population of elephants, likely the highest concentration of these majestic creatures anywhere in the world. In addition to the elephants, Chobe is celebrated for its immense herds of buffalo, diverse birdlife, and mesmerizing sunsets that cast a golden glow upon the rippling river. Together, these elements create an unforgettable wildlife experience that should not be missed.
The Savute Channel, often referred to as the “stolen river,” has experienced periods of drying up followed by unexpected reflows, attributed to tectonic movements. This unique phenomenon means that the channel can alternate between a flowing river and a ribbon of arid savannah grassland. The remnants of skeletal trees silently testify to the erratic ebb and flow of this enigmatic waterway. Beyond the channel, expansive open plains teeming with wildlife unfold, providing a habitat for various dry-land animals, including zebra, wildebeest, kudu, giraffe, wild dogs, cheetahs, and lions.
The Okavango Delta, nestled in the heart of the expansive Kalahari basin, is an extraordinary ecosystem—a river delta that emerges as an oasis within an otherwise arid and inhospitable landscape. This captivating delta nurtures an incredible diversity of wildlife, both animal and avian. The meeting of land and water gives rise to a splendid mosaic of pans, grasslands, forests, and lagoons, creating a remarkably varied range of habitats that host one of Africa’s most significant concentrations of wildlife. The Okavango Delta stands as one of the world’s natural wonders—a pristine, yet delicate ecosystem that rewards exploration with awe-inspiring encounters.
Bordering the Okavango Delta, the Moremi Game Reserve occupies the eastern corner of this magnificent delta. Revered as one of Africa’s most picturesque and diverse game reserves, it safeguards vast concentrations of wildlife and showcases breathtaking scenery. The reserve encompasses both seasonally-inundated regions like Xakanaxa and drier areas like Khwai. On this safari, our mission is to unveil some of the secrets hidden within this dynamic ecosystem, allowing you to witness the wonders and intricacies of this extraordinary wilderness.
