11 Day Tailor-made Kenya Safari and Beach – Diani, Tsavo and Amboseli

Tour Overview

This exciting Kenya safari adventure combines breathtaking landscapes, exceptional wildlife viewing, and a relaxing beach finale. Begin your journey with a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, where the iconic silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro forms the backdrop to unforgettable game drives and encounters with the park’s famous elephant herds. Spend a full day exploring Amboseli’s marshlands, open plains, and shimmering lakebeds, soaking in the variety of wildlife and stunning photographic opportunities.

Continue onward to Tsavo West National Park, stopping at the extraordinary Shetani Lava Flows, a vast volcanic landscape shaped centuries ago. Your stay at the atmospheric Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge offers exceptional wildlife viewing directly from the lodge’s own waterhole. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives through Tsavo West’s rugged terrain, red-earth plains, and dramatic volcanic scenery.

Travel east through the Tsavo ecosystem into Tsavo East National Park, known for its expansive plains and distinctive red soil. Game drives here provide new wildlife encounters, and you may choose to visit Mzima Springs to observe hippos and crocodiles through an underwater viewing chamber.

Your journey concludes with five nights on the beautiful shores of Diani Beach, staying at the welcoming Leopard Beach Hotel. Here you can unwind by the ocean, explore optional activities such as diving and deep-sea fishing, or simply enjoy the palm-lined beach and warm Indian Ocean. Day Overview

DAY 1: Amboseli National Park

Depart Nairobi around 8:00 AM for the five-hour journey to Amboseli, passing through rural towns and scenic countryside. Arrive at Kibo Safari Camp for lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, famous for its huge elephant herds and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a buffet dinner back at the camp, including freshly made wood-fired pizza. A pre-night in Nairobi can be arranged if preferred.

DAY 2: Amboseli National Park

Spend today on an extended game drive exploring Amboseli’s varied habitats, from marshlands to open plains and shimmering dry lakebeds. With more time in the park, you’ll increase your chances of spotting different species and witnessing unique animal behaviour, all set against the ever-changing backdrop of Kilimanjaro. This is a full and rewarding day immersed in one of Kenya’s most iconic landscapes.

DAY 3: Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, leave Amboseli for Tsavo West, stopping at the dramatic Shetani Lava Flows to view the ancient volcanic formations. Continue with a game drive en route to Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge, arriving in time to see its famous wildlife-rich waterhole. Later, enjoy an afternoon game drive before relaxing at the lodge as animals gather at sunset. Dinner is served buffet-style.

DAY 4: Tsavo West National Park

Enjoy a full day of wildlife viewing with morning and afternoon game drives across Tsavo West’s rugged hills, red-earth plains, and acacia woodlands. Early morning offers excellent sightings of elephants, giraffes, and antelopes, while the cooler afternoon increases chances of spotting predators. Return to the lodge at sunset to watch the waterhole come alive before dinner.

DAY 5: Tsavo East National Park

Depart early with a final game drive through Tsavo West before travelling on to Tsavo East, known for its vast open plains and red soil. Enjoy lunch at your lodge, then set out on another afternoon game drive. If you wish, visit Mzima Springs for a short guided walk to view hippos, crocodiles, and fish through the crystal-clear waters and underwater viewing chamber.

DAYS 6–10: Diani Beach

Leave the safari landscape behind and travel south to the tropical coastline of Diani Beach, where turquoise waters and palm-lined sands await. Spend five nights at Leopard Beach Hotel on a dinner, bed, and breakfast basis, with plenty of time to swim, relax, stroll the beach, or enjoy optional activities such as diving, deep-sea fishing, or dining at Ali Barbour’s Cave Restaurant.
