14 Day Eastern Highlands Zimbabwe Small Group Tour
Tour Overview
Prices From £5395 / $7095 per person
This immersive Eastern Highlands Zimbabwe Small Group Tour offers a richly layered introduction to Zimbabwe, blending cultural heritage, dramatic landscapes, and diverse wildlife experiences. Beginning in the capital city of Harare, the tour provides insight into the country’s political history, colonial past, and contemporary life before transitioning into the cool, misty Eastern Highlands. Here, the focus shifts to natural beauty and outdoor exploration, with time spent in Nyanga National Park and the surrounding highland regions, known for rolling mountains, waterfalls, panoramic viewpoints, and tranquil lodge settings.
The Eastern Highlands portion of the tour highlights Zimbabwe’s scenic and active side. From cycling through tea estates and walking along forested trails to hiking Mount Nyangani, the country’s highest peak. This segment combines gentle adventure with unspoiled landscapes. Visits to the Honde Valley, Mutarazi Falls, and the Vumba Mountains further enrich the experience, offering a mix of soft adventure, birdwatching, local industry visits, and relaxed exploration amid lush valleys and mist-covered hills.
As the journey continues south and west, the itinerary deepens with outstanding wildlife and heritage encounters. Time in the remote Gonarezhou National Park delivers an authentic safari experience in one of Zimbabwe’s least visited wilderness areas, followed by an in-depth exploration of Great Zimbabwe, the country’s most significant archaeological site. The tour concludes in the iconic Matobo Hills, where dramatic granite formations, ancient San rock art, rhino tracking, and powerful historical sites provide a fitting finale. Together, these experiences create a well-balanced, comprehensive journey through Zimbabwe’s landscapes, history, and natural wonders.
