16 Day Namibia Botswana and Zimbabwe Southern Africa Tour
Tour Overview
Embark on an unforgettable 16-day Chobe, Delta, Victoria Falls & Namibia adventure, a carefully crafted journey showcasing the very best of Southern Africa’s wild beauty. This Southern Africa Tour can be enjoyed either as an independent self-drive or as a fully private guided safari, offering the perfect balance of exploration, comfort, and freedom. Over two remarkable weeks, you’ll traverse shifting desert landscapes, wildlife-rich national parks, ancient cultural sites, dramatic coastlines, and the legendary Okavango Delta.
Your expedition begins in Namibia, where vast horizons and extraordinary scenery unfold at every turn. Journey through the iconic Namib Desert, a realm of towering red dunes, endless gravel plains, and surreal, sculpted sandscapes that change mood and colour with the moving sun. From here, continue to the windswept Skeleton Coast, where the Atlantic Ocean crashes against desert shores. Shipwrecks scattered along the coastline whisper tales of maritime drama, while the stark, untouched beauty of this region offers a true sense of isolation and wonder.
Venture inland toward Damaraland, a land defined by rugged mountains, ancient geological formations, and deep cultural significance. Explore the remarkable Twyfelfontein rock engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where ancient San artists recorded their stories in stone. Amid vast plains and sculpted granite outcrops, Damaraland reveals the raw, untamed character for which Namibia is so beloved.
Your journey then leads to Etosha National Park, home to shimmering salt pans and some of Africa’s most memorable wildlife encounters. Whether self-driving at your own pace or joining guided activities, you’ll navigate through a landscape dotted with natural and artificial waterholes, encountering elephants, lions, giraffes, and abundant plains game. Etosha’s wildlife scenes—especially around the waterholes—are guaranteed to become lasting memories.
From here, the scenery transforms dramatically as you follow the lush waterways of the Caprivi (Zambezi) Region. Wetlands, woodlands, and river systems create a haven for birdlife and aquatic species, offering a serene contrast to Namibia’s arid desert scenes. This lush corridor leads you eastward before crossing into Botswana.
In Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, your adventure takes to the skies. Board a light aircraft flight into the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve, where you’ll spend two magical nights at a Delta camp. This flying safari experience offers unrivalled aerial views of winding channels, palm-dotted islands, and wildlife grazing along clear lagoons below. Over your stay, enjoy mokoro excursions, guided walks, and serene boat activities—immersing yourself fully in the tranquillity, wildlife, and water-based beauty of the Okavango.
After your Delta stay, continue to the wildlife-rich wonderland of Chobe National Park. Famous for hosting one of the densest elephant populations in Africa, Chobe offers thrilling game drives and unforgettable riverfront sightings. Whether self-driving or guided, the park’s woodlands and floodplains teem with predators, buffalo, hippos, and vast herds that gather along the Chobe River.
This transformative journey concludes with a visit to Victoria Falls, where the Zambezi River plunges into a dramatic gorge, creating one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles. Whether exploring the rainforest on foot or soaking in a fiery Zambezi sunset cruise, Victoria Falls provides a spectacular finale to your Southern African odyssey.
