A safari stalwart Kenya continues to be a favoured destination in East Africa for those travelling from the UK, USA and Asia. With Nairobi a key international hub, with excellent transport links Kenya is an easy destination to get to, and can also easily be combined to make a multi-centre trip with Victoria Falls, Seychelles, Zanzibar, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Malawi, Madagascar, Zambia and South Africa. What an amazing choice! Nairobi is also one of the only places you can spot wildlife with a city skyline in the background - at Nairobi National Park.
The Maasai Mara is arguably Africa's most famous wildlife reserve, and has seen many visitors from all over the world. There are an abundance of animals in the Masai Mara, including the big 5. It is also home to the incredible annual wildebeest migration between June and October where over a million animals travel across the plains and river in search of water and grazing. This is typically an extremely busy time of the year to visit, luckily the Masai Mara offers excellent sightings year round so those seeking a quieter safari can still do so!
There are many areas across Kenya offering wildlife experiences, so it is possible to return to Kenya many times on safari and always visit somewhere new. Some of our favourite areas to visit include Laikepia, Lake Nakuru, Tsavo East and West, Samburu and Amboseli. For those looking for water based wildlife Watamu Marine National Park offers something different to regular safaris.
