We really enjoyed our time at Strand Hotel Swakopmund, and it quickly became one of our favourite coastal stays in Namibia. The location is exceptional, with the Atlantic Ocean right on your doorstep. Being able to walk just two minutes from the hotel to watch the sunset over the ocean was a daily highlight and something we never tired of.

Our room was both comfortable and stylish, with lovely water views that added to the overall experience. Waking up to the sight and sound of the ocean made the stay feel special, and the room itself was well designed, clean and inviting. The bathroom was particularly good, with modern fittings and plenty of space, adding to the sense of comfort.

The restaurant at the Strand has a fresh, contemporary vibe that we really enjoyed. Breakfast was a standout, with an exceptional selection and high-quality offerings that set us up perfectly for the day. Dining with ocean views added an extra layer of enjoyment, making meals feel relaxed yet special.

The communal areas are another strong point. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, they offer great views and a relaxed atmosphere that encourages guests to linger. Whether enjoying a drink, reading or simply watching the waves, these spaces contribute significantly to the hotel’s appeal.

The location is not only scenic but also highly convenient. It is an easy and pleasant walk to Swakopmund’s attractions, including Jetty 1908, one of our favourite restaurants in town. Overall, Strand Hotel Swakopmund combines excellent location, comfort, style and atmosphere, making it a fantastic choice for a coastal stay for those who like that bit of luxury.
