Our Review

★★★★★

Ol Seki Hemingways Mara is a beautifully intimate safari camp that delivers a true sense of being immersed in the wild. With only a small number of tents, the camp never feels busy, allowing guests to experience the conservancy in a peaceful, unhurried way. Set within the outstanding Naboisho Conservancy, Ol Seki offers a level of exclusivity that enhances every moment, from quiet mornings overlooking the savannah to evenings under vast, star-filled skies.

Service at Ol Seki is exceptional, delivered with warmth and attention to detail that reflects the high standards of the Hemingways brand. The food is consistently excellent, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, whether enjoyed in the dining tent, outdoors under the stars, or around the campfire. Game drives are conducted in shared vehicles with a maximum of six guests, ensuring everyone enjoys a window seat and unobstructed views, a detail that makes a significant difference when wildlife sightings unfold.

The Naboisho Conservancy itself is superb for wildlife viewing, offering outstanding opportunities to spot the Big Five alongside a wide variety of plains game and predators. The name Ol Seki means “sandpaper tree,” a symbol of peace and harmony for the Maasai people, and this philosophy is woven into every aspect of the camp. The atmosphere is calm, grounding, and deeply connected to nature, creating a safari experience that feels both restorative and exhilarating.

Accommodation at Ol Seki is cleverly designed to blend into the landscape, with all tents spaced along the hillside and connected to the main areas by raised wooden walkways. The standard tents, known as Nina, named after the architect’s daughter, are beautifully appointed and offer sweeping views. The two larger family units, Chui and Simba, provide additional space and the luxury of a private butler.

Communal areas include two spacious lounge and dining tents, thoughtfully positioned to maximise panoramic views across a frequently visited waterhole, allowing guests to watch wildlife pass by while relaxing or dining. The atmosphere is both elegant and inviting, with comfortable furnishings that encourage you to linger and take in the surroundings. In addition, a striking fire pit and a beautiful infinity pool are built seamlessly into the natural boulders of the hillside, creating a unique space to unwind, share stories after a game drive, and soak in the extraordinary scenery and serenity that define this remarkable camp.
