Our Review
Kabala Hill View Guest House offers a simple and peaceful stay in a truly beautiful setting. The rooms are basic but comfortable, and importantly they are en-suite, which makes a big difference in this part of the country. There are showers available, though hot water is very limited, and electricity is only provided during certain hours of the day. While this may require a little adjustment, it fits with the lodge’s relaxed, off-the-beaten-track atmosphere.
The food is straightforward but enjoyable. Breakfast and dinner are both quite basic, yet tasty and satisfying after a day of travelling or exploring. Meals are served in a casual setting, adding to the homely feel of the place. It’s not luxury dining, but it is hearty and well prepared.
What truly makes this lodge stand out, however, is the setting. The views over Kabala and the surrounding hills are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. There is nothing better than sitting on the balcony with a book, watching the sky change colours as the day slowly comes to a close. The peacefulness of that moment is unforgettable.
The lodge is also a wonderful spot for bird lovers. The surrounding area attracts a variety of birdlife, and it’s easy to spend time simply listening to and observing nature.
