Dolomite Resort is a distinctive safari lodge located in the remote western section of Etosha National Park in northern Namibia, perched atop a striking dolomite ridge that offers panoramic views over the park’s plains and abundant wildlife. Named after the dramatic rock formations that surround it, the resort comprises a small number of thatched, elevated chalets—some with private plunge pools—that open onto vistas of waterholes and open bush, making wildlife sightings a part of everyday life right outside your door. The property features a restaurant, bar, viewing deck and infinity pool where guests can unwind while watching animals gather below, and guided game drives and walks allow immersive exploration of this lesser-visited, biodiversity-rich area of Etosha. With its peaceful location away from busier park areas and its blend of comfort and wilderness immersion, Dolomite Resort makes for an unforgettable safari experience.

Dolomite Resort Etosha is certainly one of the better Namibia Wildlife Resorts properties and benefits from an excellent location in the remote western section of Etosha National Park. Perched on a dramatic dolomite ridge, the setting is undeniably impressive, with wide panoramic views over the plains and a strong sense of isolation from the busier parts of the park. Wildlife sightings in this area are rewarding, and the quieter surroundings add greatly to the experience.

The rooms are well located and positioned to take advantage of the views, which is one of the lodge’s biggest strengths. Sitting on the deck and looking out over the landscape, often with animals visible below, is a genuine highlight. The accommodation itself is comfortable and functional, providing everything needed for a stay inside the park.

That said, Dolomite Resort fits more firmly into the mid-range category rather than offering a true luxury experience. There can be maintenance issues at times, and while the design has ambition, the overall feel of the resort does not quite deliver a polished or high-end atmosphere. The communal areas, in particular, lack some of the refinement that might be expected given the spectacular setting.

Despite this, we still very much enjoyed our time at Dolomite Resort. The location within Etosha is outstanding, the wildlife experience is strong, and for an NWR property it represents excellent value for money. For travellers who prioritise access to a unique part of the park and are comfortable with a more practical level of comfort, Dolomite Resort is a rewarding and worthwhile choice.
