Tanzania is a leading safari destination, and usually top of most travel lists when it comes to wildlife viewing. Home to both the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, and famous for the annual wildebeest migration across into Kenya. There is a reason that Tanzania is a popular destination.

Tanzania is extremely popular with honeymooners, as a 5-7 day Tanzania safari followed by 7 days relaxing on the white sand beached of Zanzibar offers an ideal mix of the excitement of searching for the big 5, followed by complete relaxation with the sounds of the ocean.

A wide range of Tanzania tours are available from basic camping to high-end luxury, although Tanzania doesn’t fall into the budget category – even when camping. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro have high densities of wildlife, and whilst sightings are never guaranteed the sheer volume of animals means that all safari drives are highly engaging.

When is the best time of the year to visit?

July through to October are traditionally the best times to visit Tanzania, and this is largely driven by the infamous wildebeest migration. However, this also means it is by far the busiest time to visit the country and accommodation prices are at the peak. Wildlife viewing is good throughout the year and if you are not afraid of potential rain you can get some good deals between March and May.
