You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel for 9 nights. On arrival you will be presented with a full detailed timed itinerary of your tour for the week, and you will be given the opportunity to ask any questions you have prior to the start of the tour. You will be given time to settle in for the rest of the day before being picked up in the evening for a meal at the famous Gold Restaurant.
Today is a full day private tour with a local guide taking in some of the most outstanding scenery around Cape Town. Cape Point is at the tip of the Cape Peninsula and one of the southern most part of table mountain national park, a declared Natural World Heritage Site. From here you will visit the Cape of Good Hope, a rocky headland on the Atlantic Ocean. The tour also includes a visit to Boulders Beach, the breeding place of the African Penguins and a unique sight in the region.
This morning you will be picked up by a local driver and taken down to the Clock Tower ready to embark on a tour of the historic Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 27 years. There is a ferry ride across to the island, where you will then pick up a bus on arrival for a tour of the island, followed by a tour of the prison by a former inmate. You will then return back by ferry to the clock tower where your driver will be waiting to take you across to Kirstenbosch botanical gardens.
Today you will have plenty of free time to explore areas of Cape Town of your choice. At an agreed time you will be picked up from your accommodation, and transferred to the Mount Nelson Hotel for a luxury Afternoon Tea.
Today is an included trip to Cape Agulhas, which is the southernmost tip of Africa and the place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans Meet. The tour takes you through stunning mountain scenery, and you will get the opportunity to try and spot the blue crane, the national bird of South Africa. Late lunch (own expense) will be in Hermanus, and if you are there between July and November you may get to see the whales from the shore...
Today you will be picked up by our local guide for a full day private wine tasting tour in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. You will visit 4 or 5 vineyards and be given the chance to try and purchase a wide range of excellent wines from some of the best wine growing regions in the world. There is a lunch stop (own expense) overlooking the beautiful Franschhoek valley and the day finishes with a wine and cheese pairing. You will then be transferred to your Franschoek hotel for a 2 night stay.
Today you have free-time to explore the beautiful town of Franschoek. You can take your choice between visiting the Huguenot Monument, visit an art gallery or museum, try some of the excellent restaurants in the area or simply just take in a spot of shopping.
Today you will be picked up for a scenic drive across to Knysna. On arrival in Knysna you will join an afternoon oyster cruise where you will get to learn all there is to know about one of the world's most loved delicacy. You will taste the difference between wild and cultivated oysters, all whilst cruising the lagoon to the Heads and surrounds. Following the cruise you will transfer to your Krynsa hotel for 2 nights.
Today you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Whilst here you will take a return ferry trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the Western Head, go on a 4x4 vehicle & trailer drive up the headland onto the Reserve, stopping at spectacular viewpoints. Your tour includes a Specialist guide giving information on history, fauna & flora. If you want to can take an optional guided 2km walk through coastal forest and fynbos into ancient sea caves. You excursion also includes a buffet lunch at an outdoor restaurant setting under a canopy of Milkwood trees.
Today you will have a short drive across to Plettenberg Bay. Once you arrive you will have the opportunity to visit both the Elephant Sanctuary and the Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary. After these trips you will transfer across to a local Game Reserve for a 3 night stay.
The next two days will be spent full-board at a local game reserve where you will have the opportunity to take part in game drives and wildlife walks. You will have the opportunity to hopefully see lion, wildebeest, buffalo, baboon, caracal, bushpigs, cheetah, crocodile, giraffe, hippo and impala.
This morning you will be transferred to Plettenberg Bay airport in preparation for your flight home.
