Cape Town in a diverse, energetic and cosmopolitan city where you can spend your days immersing yourself in the hussle and bussle of the waterfront, eating world class food, getting a greater understanding of the history of apartheid, viewing the beautiful fauna at Kirstenbosch, looking at the unrivalled views of table mountain (hopefully) and also enjoying the amazing local wines.
On leaving Cape Town you will enjoy a much quieter 3 night stay in Simons Town. This is a quaint little beach town that has a great old-style high street to explore and a lovely harbour to sit and people watch. From here you will do trips to Boulders Beach and Cape Point, which are both outstanding areas of natural beauty.
Following a peaceful and relaxing stay in Simons Town you will head off for the final part of your trip, which is the ultimate in luxury safari. Shamwari Game Reserve is world renowned as offering excellent safari experience and conservation within the Western Cape. You will be truly pampered, whilst also getting to go on numerous game drives to see some of Africa’s finest animals.

You will be met at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your hotel for 9 nights. On arrival you will be presented with a full detailed timed itinerary of your tour for the week, and you will be given the opportunity to ask any questions you have prior to the start of the tour. You will be given time to settle in for the rest of the day before being picked up in the evening for a meal at the famous Gold Restaurant.
Today you will be picked up by our local guide for a full day private wine tasting tour in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. You will visit 4 or 5 vineyards and be given the chance to try and purchase a wide range of excellent wines from some of the best wine growing regions in the world. There is a lunch stop (own expense) overlooking the beautiful Franschhoek valley and the day finishes with a wine and cheese pairing.
Today you get to visit the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap on a guided walking tour of the area. This area used to be known as the Malay Quarter and is situated at the base of Signal Hill. Bo-Kaap has an interesting history and provides a unique cultural experience, in stunningly bright surroundings.
This morning you will be picked up by a local driver and taken down to the Clock Tower ready to embark on a tour of the historic Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 27 years. There is a ferry ride across to the island, where you will then pick up a bus on arrival for a tour of the island, followed by a tour of the prison by a former inmate. You will then return back by ferry to the clock tower where your driver will be waiting to take you across to Kirstenbosch botanical gardens.

Today you will be picked up around 11.30am and transferred to Simon’s Town. The 60 minute drive is very picturesque through the table mountain national park and then out to the coast. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure.
Today we will arrange a short transfer for you to visit Boulders Beach, the breeding place of the African Penguins and a truly unique sight in the region. It is only a very short ride from Simon’s Town but completely worth it, for the stunning views and great wildlife experience. We can arrange the tour at any time to suit and it will take around 2 hours maximum.
Today is a full day private tour with a local guide taking in some of the most outstanding scenery around the region. Cape Point is at the tip of the Cape Peninsula and one of the southern most parts of table mountain national park, a declared Natural World Heritage Site. From here you will visit the Cape of Good Hope, a rocky headland on the Atlantic Ocean.
Today you will be picked up at an agreed time and transferred to Cape Town Airport for your short flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival at PE you will be met and transferred approximately 50 minutes to the outstanding Shamwari Game Reserve. Depending on your chosen flight time you should arrive in time for afternoon tea and then the afternoon game drive.
Once in Shamwari you will have the option to follow the typical schedule of a morning and afternoon game drive each day, in search of the big 5, zebra, antelope, birds, hippo, cheetah, warthog, giraffes and much more. There are also a number of other options available upon request such as a visit to the Born Free Sanctuary, a visit to the animal rehabilitation centre, game walks, birding walk or a session at the on-site spa.
