Arrive at Bole International Airport. Where a local representative will meet you and take you to your hotel. In the evening you will experience a welcome dinner at a traditional Ethiopian Restaurant featuring dancers and musicians representing some of the country’s many ethnic groups.
Today you will visit the Ethnographic Museum, a great introduction to Ethiopian culture and history. You will also get the opportunity to visit the Entoto Hills, the Mercato, and Trinity Cathedral, which is the resting place of Emperor Haile
This morning you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the airport for a flight to Bahar Dar on Ethiopian Airlines. Here you will visit the marketplace in Bahar Dar and take a boat tour on Lake Tana, the source of the Blue Nile.
This morning you will leave on a Drive to Gondar through the country side. On route you will visit the remote ruins of Kuskuam, built for Empress Mentewab in the 1700’s. After lunch, you will tour the Royal Enclosure, a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring five castles built by a succession of Ethiopian Kings.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Lalibela. On arrival you will be picked up at the airport and taken on a tour of the magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Today you will continue to tour the churches with a drive to Yemrehanna Kristos, a beautiful church situated in a shallow cave that predates the churches of Lalibela. The drive to Yemrehanna will also give you the opportunity to view the rural countryside and villages of the Ethiopian highlands.
Today you will fly to Axum, and on arrival tour the ancient stelae fields, which have been standing for 2000 years. Following this you will drive to Sankabar the gateway to the Simien Mountains National Park, another UNESCO World Heritage site.
Today you fly back to Addis Ababa and Visit the National Museum, home of the 3 million year old skeleton “Lucy.” There is then the opportunity for optional souvenir shopping or you can also visit the Sholla market , George cathedral, and the red terror museum.
Today sees an early morning, departure for Wenchi crater Lake via Woliso. The spectacular crater Lake offers some worthwhile indigenous forest reserve, hot springs, a horse ride and a 2-3 hour trek (can be shortened). A boat cruise is also possible to visit the island monastery.
Today you will leave Addis Ababa for an excursion to Menagesha Forest with a stop at Gofers Reservoir. This area is famous for its endemic Birding.
Today you will be picked up at an agreed time and transferred to the airport for your onward flight or flight home.
